DIG kids are invited to join us for a fun filled day at Michigan’s Adventure in Muskegon, MI on August 14th. We will leave from URC on Wednesday, August 14th at 10am and to return by 10pm-ish. The cost is $70/person which includes a ticket, dinner, and travel. Students will need to pack their own lunch or buy onsite.

Plan to bring own lunch, a bathing suit, towel, sunscreen, hat, water bottle, etc.

This is a consent form/travel release for minors as well as any info that will be needed in case of an emergency. A limited number of partial scholarships are available. If you have any questions, contact Katie Middlestead.

We will be discussing “Praying with Paul” by D.A. Carson, where he explores Paul’s prayer life as a way to reform our own and to grown in our relationship with Christ.

We will be meeting on Wednesday nights at URC from 7-8:30 p.m. on the following dates: June 26, July 10, July 24, and August 7.

Books will be available on the book table for $12.70/book.

URC families are invited to join us for an evening of baseball, fellowship and fireworks at the Lansing Lugnuts home game on Wednesday, July 3rd. The game starts at 7:05 p.m. and there will be fireworks after the game. We will meet at the stadium. Tickets are $12 a piece. Contact Dave Hinkley with questions. Sign up below.

To promote equipping the saints for the work of ministry (Eph. 4:12) URC is offering its Biblical and Theological Foundations course this Summer on Sunday mornings. If you are interested in growing in your knowledge of Scripture and theology, and your ability to minister the Word to those around you, this class is for you. The class is a prerequisite for those interested in serving URC as an elder or deacon one day, but it is open to all members of the church — both men and women — with a heart to grow in leadership in the church. Meets Sunday mornings from 9:00-10:15 a.m., beginning June 2. Contact Chip Cogan for more info.

On Wednesday, May 22, families are invited to DIG for what we call “BIG DIG” from 6:30-8:30pm. We will all gather together for dinner, games (a middle & high school game and a parents & elementary kids game). The night will finish with separate Bible Study classes. Dave Hinkley will be teaching the adults, middle and high school youth will participate in their normal DIG studies, and elementary kids will participate in age appropriate Bible Studies. Childcare will be provided up to age 4. We are also looking for helpers. Please contact Katie Middlestead with questions or to help.

Please join other women of URC for a time of fellowship over brunch. This spring our brunch will be held in small groups and hosted in homes on Saturday, May 18 at 9:30 a.m. Contact Priscilla Lohrmann with questions.

The DIG Summer Service Trip will be in Detroit from July 14th-19th. We will be partnering with Redeemer Presbyterian Church and New City Kids (run by Alex Goldsmith, one of the missionaries sent out and supported by URC). We will be driving down on Sunday July 14th in time to worship with Redeemer Presbyterian Church and return by early evening Friday the 19th. Our days will include helping Redeemer with any building needs and projects and coming alongside New City Kids as they do their summer camp for area kids. The group will be sleeping at Redeemer. The cost is $300 which includes: transportation, food, supplies, and lodging. There are limited spots due to the maximum amount of volunteers that New City and Redeemer can take. Get ready to run the race! Join us June 17-20 for VBS!

Children 4 years old through children going into 5th grade in the fall are invited to enter the race! Throughout the week the children will be learning about how to run the race set before them and that Jesus is the only way. Each day will include singing, teaching, crafts, and recreation.

VBS will be from 9:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m., Monday through Thursday at URC.

Attention Golfers of URC – the URC summer golf league is currently approaching a new season. This will be the 22nd year of the golf league and is exclusive to URC members and regular attendees so you will play alongside those you worship with. The league plays 9 holes each outing at the Eldorado Golf Course in Mason on Monday evenings with tee times starting around 5:30 p.m.

We invite men and women golfers of all skill levels to join us for fun and fellowship wrapped up in a round of golf. Sign up as an individual or with a teammate that you will play with each week. If you cannot make it every week, you can also create a team of three or more and rotate who is playing each week.

The first night of golf is scheduled for May 6th this year and runs through mid August. The annual league fee will be in the neighborhood of $230 per golfer. Please reach out to league organizers Jeff McAlvey (517.862.1007) or Gerry Gothro (517.944.0088) to sign up or with any questions.
